Still Life In Mobile...Phone:)

Today I am uploading several photographs I have taken thoughout last couple years.

Some are the views from my window: winter ones, the extremely blue sky (not photoshopped O.o) and the morning one.

Then different skies :) Fireworks during an annual fastival held in my home town, strange 'bridge' between buildings in the same town, clouds that look like an old Windows wallpaper :D - taken with my old mobile phone, so forgive the quality:), the bridge and the mountains in the city where I live nowadays. That is actually the view I could admire while going to school for my practical lessons, unless the sky was cloudy, as it often happens in here ;/

Then  two city parks. One from my town, the one where some old walls can be seen. Built about eight hundred years ago:) I love this picture. then one of many parks in the city, the one with the bicycle sign. On the very top you can see a building, that the dwellers call, because of its shape, a Mashroom (Pl. Grzybek :)). Then a small, but cute, graffiti from Breslau (Pl. Wrocław), which is one of the biggest cities in here. I don't  know really what it ought to present, but the writing is quite funny, as it says : George, what's for dinner today? (Pl.Dżordż, co dziś na obiad) That, together with the doggie's face expression, makes it really amusing :) Then, the photo with strawberries I accidentally took almost a year ago. Another one, with fruit I picked from our orchard: plums, pears, nuts, peaches and apples.

Oil On Canvas

Well, as the title says, today I am uploading my oils. Yet, they are not on canvas, but on a regular, only slightly thicker paper. I have one canvas and it is not a problem to buy some more, but as u may probably suspect, these are the first oils I have ever made; thus, I did not want the canvas to get wasted if the painting turned out to be a disaster.

Both are almost one year old, yet I had so many more interesting paintings, I hesitated with posting these. Still, I hope you like them. Honestly, I am quite satisfied with the effects and promised myself to come back for a while to oils during the forthcoming holidays. But.. it was not that rosy form the beginning. Can you imagine a terribly disastrous catastrophe? Okay, so that is more or less what my first oil looked like. I just tore it and threw away. The next day, knowing what to use the oils like, I mean, how to mix the colours and apply them onto the paper's surface, I started to paint. It is completely different and actually I cannot tell whether it is better to for me to use pencils or oils, but I must admit that, generally, it is much more difficult to portray using pencils than paints. Even though they are more precise, one can still use a thinner brush or even a tooth-stick-like thing to apply paints, so it pretty much the same thing. Only, when using pencils, one mistake at times may mean the end of the whole picture, and it is usually very difficult, if not even impossible, to fix it. When painting I can simply put more paint, wait for it to dry, and then paint something, initially intended, again. Also, when at times, I need to paint something very light, with oils I can make it almost shining; yet, with pencils, it can be only as bright as the paper, which is not obviously the lightest, especially if already dirty from the darker pencils;/

So, all in all, I did enjoy creating my oils, and in the future, I want to paint some more, but I am certainly not going to have it as my main medium. Actually, I painted these for two reasons. 1. I got an old and used set of oils, for which I want to still thank my mum's church's pastor's wife, as I couldn't affort the one at that time, especially if I did not even know if I am going to be good at it. Since it lacked a couple essential colours, my choice of them was limited. Still, if not for her I would still not have an opportunity to try oils. 2. Many people start to disregard me as an artist when I tell them that I paint with pencils, so I just needed to prove them I can paint with oils probably just as good as with pencils, only I do not find it enjoyable :)

So, I hope you all like my oils. Some of you may feel already bored with another picture of that 'black-haired guy with child-like face caused by his rabbit-like teeth and puppy-like eyes', but I really like portraying him. And so, yes, that is Steve Jansen. On the other picture you can see Debra Paget. I think she was an American actress, but honestly, I don't care. I chose her just because of her lovely face, so forgive me if she seems vain, but so was my attitude. Actually, according to most people's opinion, all my women look much better that the men I portray, yet only the men seem to have that 'emotional depth' in their face expressions, etc. Having been told that, I started to notice the same, and my explanations is simple: I portray women because I like their faces, but men because I like/admire them as artists, inspirations and certainly people who represent some values and wisdom. That is why, although for many not pretty at all, they at least do not seem to be dumb :)

GLAM SIBLINGZZ - TIM INTRO

Hello everyone :) Today I'd like to present a new cartoon, and as the title says, we have a new hero - the doggie named Tim. Also, I have to already say that Tim is not going to say a word, he will be only uhmm... talked about by the rest of the heroes. I think I just needed to add another feature causing cuuuteness and humour in the whole series. Nevertheless, he is going to appear only when needed, otherwise will be sleeping somewhere else. Apart from that, I am going to introduce a couple of other heroes, yet their names (references) shall remain unknown:)

The doggie is, as you see, significantly similar to our balck-and-blonde hero, which is actually quite useful for the sake of amusement. Also, why the name you may ask...The thing is the REAL glam siblings actually had a dog named Tim (it was stated in one of their interviews), only it is very unlikely that he looked anyhow similar to this one:)

Also... I simply couldn't resist the temptation, so I hope you enjoy these cute glam feet too:) I mean...I can't - they're just too cute:) Gosh... I hope that much of the cuuuteness won't harm me anyway...

So I would like to wish you all the best, enjoy the beautiful weather ( as long as it doesn't rain :D and it is probably going to rain soon..;/ )

GLAM SIBLINGZZ - The Haircut

Today I am uploading another part of GS cartoon, and since we have the spring (finally...;) I think the subject suits, as very often people change e.g. their hairstyle after winter. Anyway, I wish you all the best and enjoy this beautiful season when everything comes back to life again:)

Also, I'd like to say that, although I don't want to be a teacher anymore (for various, serious reasons), at least I can honestly say that I'd be a pretty good one - I have  almost finished my practical lessons already:D It's been great. Obviously, on the first day I was so stressed, that, since I always blush, I needed to put LOADS of foundation onto my face xD But within the first five minutes I forgot I was ever stressed, and now even without make-up at all  I am doing very well (only cos I was late in the morning, and as we all know, it's better not to put any make-up when in a rush than to do it and look like a zombie..:D
Besides, the students are quite cooperative. I have a class e.g. where there are four girls and nine guys, all aged 18 at least, so usually there is one or two years of the age difference between us:) That means, there are quite a few jokes and silly suggestive remarks, but I never take them seriously, and we all laugh at them. Also, I always manage to arrange the activities in the right order and I always have enough time for everything. Teaching, in general, requires much of the 'mental' multitasking, which I am not particularly good at, but it's fun. And a bit of hard work too. I mean, each evening before the lessons, I have to get prepared and go through all the tasks myself, which obviously takes some time. Apart from that, one needs to be an open person, so as to encourage the students to speak and respond, but again, I have to keep everything under control and not let them disturb too much during the classes:)
To sum up, it is a hard job, but very enjoyable one, for those who like working both, on their own and with a big group of people, doing much paper work and talking with the students. What is more, one has to respect these young people but keep the balance and always make them conscious that they are to obey us and not the other way round. We cannot ignore their questions, even if they seem to be silly or slightly rude, but we cannot also let them behave in any way they wish. We just have to love it :)

GLAM SIBLINGZZ - After Party

aa
Today I am uploading the first of the whole series of my cartoons, called The Glam SiblingS. I hesitated quite a long time with publishing it for many reasons. First of all, I wasn't sure if they are funny enough or rather if they are funny only for me... Also, if I can think of the ideas (plots) for the whole series, as I didn't want to end up on e.g. three cartoons only. And the main reason...Well, I believe the title of the series is self-explanatory; it is based on the adventures of two glam siblings, who are obviously: D. Sylvian and S. Jansen. Why them (again) you may think? Nah, not because I am a blood-thirsty groupie:) Anyway, I am not...It's again so for several reasons. The main, is because, in general, I have been planning developing in other areas, so as not to get bored with portraying. Also, I wanted the heroes to be very characteristic and have many features I could relatively easily capture and in a slightly exaggerated way. So I have the blond one with raised eyebrows, and the black and blond with puppy like eyes. Over time, the GS have been changing too, but these are the main features I started with:)

Apart from that, I uhmm....I think I somehow wanted to make fun of that Sylvian's eternal 'over' maturity and seriousness. I mean, yeah, I quite like reading his interviews, because the journalists, at least nowadays, don't focus on irrelevant issues, such as: make-up, make-up and...make-up etc., but on his musical projects, points of view, opinions on art in general. So, I must admit, I much more prefer such interviews, as they are professional and not 'groupie-oriented' :D Yet, he sometimes seems sooooo serious about everything he says, thinks etc., that it just makes him even funnier. At least for me, the more serious he intends to be, the less he actually is :) The only thing is that, although I do not like him particularly, I respect him as a great artist and talented songwriter.  So, because of that, I never want my cartoons to be anyhow offensive towards his person. I try to make that kind of sitcoms rather than pointing at particular, characteristic for him features, that could be considered funny, etc.

As the silly blonde from the cartoon needed to be 'grounded' I did not look long for his companion and chose the, in reality much more down-to-earth, yet equally talented and charismatic, black and blond hero - Jansen. Honestly, he is so characteristic, that making a cartoon out of him is a piece of cake:) I mean...these teeth, colourful hair, eyes, the way he would pose to the photos back then in the 70's...xD He could not have been mistaken or lost in the crowd, could he?

As regards drawing itself, it is very enjoyable, but not easy and rather time-consuming. I mean, I love the 'cyanide and happiness' series, but I want my cartoons to be perfect and detailed; thus, I spend several hours on each. I got accustomed to it while portraying, and it's hard to me to draw simply. Whenever I draw, I always add some shadows, etc, so that, subconsciously, out of a initially only demonstrative sketch, I create a drawing. Inventing the stories is also quite difficult, as not everything can be considered amusing, particularly for those who do not know Japan (the band). Also, lets face it: they both are men... Yeah, it is a challenge: how to draw two effeminated and , thus, often mistaken for females, men in an exaggerated way, and still keep them look like men? :D my tips are: arms wider than hips, skinny chest (always shadowed) and lighter shadows in between, uhmm... pockets of their trousers:) Also, I try to keep prominent noses and stronger, manly jaw-lines. Still, they look like chicks at times;/

Nevertheless, most of my friends find the GS funny and inventive. So I wish you all enjoy them as well.

Happy Valentine's Day

I'd like to wish you all Happy Valentine's Day, and as much love and positive feelings everywhere around you as possible. To those who are in any relationship: much love and many great times spent together, to those who are not: that you could soon find someone who will love you and you will love more than any other person on this planet :)

Today, I am uploading a funny cartoon with...OMG... It's for my friend, and she is probably reading it now...and perhaps smiling, but yeah...It's Andy and Ashley, a vocalist and bass-player from her favourite band Black Veil Brides. I know how much she loves their music, so I thought she should like the original card I am going to give her tomorrow :) PS: I promise not to joke too much about the cutting stuff any more:D

Little Boy George Doll :D

Today I would like to show you the pictures of making the Boy doll. Again:)

I mean, this time he is very small, (15 cm). Yet, it took me as much time to make as the previous. And also, this time just as then, the hair was the most time-consuming part of the whole process. Altogether I spend more or less 30 hours. The only thing is that I started last May (2011) and had so many other things to do that I simply couldn't finish and forgot about him. Nevertheless, recently, when looking for some other pictures, I found some home-made dolls of some
other musicians, which reminded me of my doll :) So, because I had some time now, I decided to finish the doll, and here are the results:) Too cuuute to be true ;)

PS. I only wonder what would happen if now I took him to school... There would be still some wankers who'd laugh, some of my friends would like it, but for sure I a) wouldn't have to apologise for bringing him in; b) wouldn't apologise anyway, I was only too frightened last time in the high school, now I really wouldn't give a damn to what people may say. Yeah, thanks to the real Boy ;)

My Drawing Step By Step :)

Ok, today I am uploading the pictures taken during the whole process of drawing. Actually almost whole, because I skipped photographing the sketch thing. Anyway, I hope that you'll enjoy it. I mainly decided to post it because, many of my friends and acquaintances have been asking me for it. They say that they either enjoy seeing somebody drawing or they are simply curious how more or less it looks like. I don't usually like people observing me, so that's why I post it here:)

Also, I have to say, that this term I got the average note just as good as after the very first term (year ago). That means that I am not completely disillusioned yet with getting the scholarship after this year as well, but as I am a realist, I say: we'll see;) Nevertheless, I must have changed something in me, because, when, year ago, I had eleven subjects I had the same notes, as now, with 22 subjects...;/ I mainly might have changed slightly my learning methods; I stopped doing stuff that no lecturer is going to appreciate anyway, only the useful and required things. The only exception is probably one lady, with whom we, unfortunately, are not going to have any more lessons:( But it's because she was rather devoted and caring towards us, and one of very few who'd appreciate our working harder (That includes my make-up for the Winter Variety Show :D hard to forget, right?...and a huge pin-up-styled poster announcing it...the show not my make-up:D).

What is more, I would mainly study to the final exams just one or two-three days before them, not earlier:) That all would make me less tired and my brain not so uhm.... littered:D
Apart from that, I changed my general attitude towards my studies and chosen profession, and my future in general:) I became more laid-back (can you imagine an Aussie getting even more laid-back? :D) Now I know that if in the future I become a teacher, I will enjoy my job and I won't suffer at all. Yet, if I become somebody else (can't reveal all my plans yet:D), I will love my job even more. That means, I don't pay as much attention to the studies as I did last year, because I do not consider being a teacher the one and only way of living for me.

So, whoever of you is going to have any difficult exams in the nearest future, I wish you all the best and enjoy my picture. For those who do not recognise: It's again, Britt Ekland, only my skills improved, so she is painted here more pretty as the last time (scroll down to compare;)

2011/12/20

I haven't finished yet :)

This time I will write even less than the last time (scroll down if you don't remember:), but since I have changed so much during last several months, I decided to upload a few photographs of mine, where the changes can be clearly seen :)
The first set - the black&white photos, were taken at least six months ago. I quite like them (actually I like all of them, and I like being photographed in general, but please, don't take it as lack of modesty:). So, I like them, because they are quite classy, and the fact that my eyes reflect the thoughts of mine, which seem here to be faaar away:)

The second set....Well, you all know who I listen to, don't you :D All I can say, is the fact that nowhere here (as on the previous set) I wear any make-up. So it's the natural look of mine:) Not my 'fault'...

On the third set... Well... At the first photo I tried hard (a bit too much probably ;) to have the S.Tate-like make-up. I didn't look good, simply because I am not similar to her. The next photo is yesterday's, and it was just a practice, before today. The inspiration? I'll explain it in a minute:). The third photo is much older, and I am not wearing here any make-up, again. But I just love my GLAM haircut. I mean, I love the haircut, but not necessarily on me; I believe, the one ripped-off Sylvian suits me much better (actually, his was more like of a playmate rather than glam-like one...not offending himself)

So, the fourth set...OMG, those of you, who never had guts to go to a supermarket dressed so, will never understand me:) We had a Christmas Variety Show, and after that, I went to a shop with my friend, with whom I study, to buy some rolls and oranges, and there she took those pictures. Actually, I was playing a witch/fairy, and, having no other inspiration, thanks to my friend, I decided to wear this make-up. She's a huge fan of that band, Black Veil Brides, so yesterday she sent me their photos, where one of their guitarists (as far as I remember) had very similar make-up to mine. Only my hair was more Michael Monroe-like, but never mind :) And the strangest thing was that the older people turned out to be usually much more tolerant than the younger ones. Some people were quite terrified, some were just smiling (in a nice, not sarcastic way). But after a few hours of wearing so much black stuff on my pallid face in front of all my fellow students and lecturers I got so accustomed that I didn't even feel that I had such a make-up on, so it was actually the people in the shop, who were reminding me that I looked extraordinarily :) I do hope, you all enjoyed watching these photographs and, once again, I wish you all the best for the Christmas :*

Merry Christmas And Happy New Year To Everyone ;*

Recently I have very little time, so I won't write a looong essay on how I love or hate someone or somerhing. Anyway, this is the time when we all should try to be nice to everyone (actually we should behave so all year long, but never mind :P ) so I will try to say nothing but positive stuff. It probably means I am not allowed to talk about all the personal shit that has been happening to me for last two months or so...

As regards the positive issues, only yesterday I saw a guy who was just identical to, uhmmm S.Jansen! Normally, I meet many people similar to e.g. Gold, Moss, and many others... But that was just thrilling, I mean he wasn't just a bit or a bit more similar, but he was just identical! That's not the end:) Apart from that, I did the craziest thing ever :P When already at the bus station, I gave him a small piece of paper, asking if he knew the man he is so similar to, obviously with my phone number and asking only for the 'yes-no' answer (didn't have no guts to ask him directly). I know what you may think, but please don't :) I really wasn't interested in a man wearing a wedding ring (I am not such a bitch), being more or less 40-year-old (yeah, he could be easily my father) and on top of that being so terribly similar to a musician that I respect as much as one usually respects... their father/teacher/any other authority :) I only wanted to know, after all make him know, because I think it's a nice thing to be a lookalike of someone rather famous :) Still waiting for a message....I don't expect him to answer, but at least I did my best to make another person familiar with good music xD

So,I'd like to wish you all the best for the Christmas and I'd also like to upload another two pictures:) This time, two cute, but not living anymore, blondes...One is a simple sketch that took me less than an hour and it's Randy Rhoads (great guitarist) and the colourful that took me a couple of days, Sharon Tate. Enjoy :)

2011/11/15

Wow, I know I haven't written for so long now (again) but the second year is twice as difficult as the first one; therefore, I hardly ever time for anything, even painting. Many things have been happening as well in my personal life, most of which are not very positive. Maybe next time I will write more about it. Now I don't think I should do that. Anyway, I found a funny questionnaire the other day, and I'd like to share with you some of my answers on it. First, It's quite personal; second, If you are not interested, just don't bother really; and third, at least enjoy the pictures - two cute pin up ladies :)

Time vs. the clock of my heart

So much has been happening to me recently, that it is a bit of a problem for me to write now about this one, particular thing. You know, it's pretty difficult: all these deadlines I have to remember, secrets I have to keep and activities I enjoy so much but have hardly ever time for.

First of all, I only started the second year of my studies, which, albeit better organized, is far more difficult that the previous. That makes me only looking forward to having my holiday again. Apart from all the regular stuff, such as home assingments and preparing for the lectures, we have already set four projects to work on, which altogether are going to be longer than my B.A. thesis [sic]. Thanks God, two may have the subjects of our choice. You know, sometimes I really wish I could study e.g. in States. Not offending them, the schooling there is sooo much easier than here, still, wherever one studies, later on it usually turns out that half of the knowledge in real life is simply useless. Yet, as I started I must finish it, otherwise I'd have wasted another two years :D

Additonally, I have a lot of secrets. And you all can only imagine how hard it is for me to keep them; mind you, I am a girl :D And the most difficult is keeping it inside particularly, when I really need to tell it anyone, share it with them, asking for advice etc.

What is more, recently I have so little time, even for myself, not to mention any additional activities of mine. Usually, when I come home (hall:) I have to quickly prepare something to eat, but before I have to walk to the shop to buy things for dinner, supper, some fruit and something for breakfast. (I must go to shop everyday, because I don't even have time for any exercise:/ that all takes me over one hour) Okay, when I am finally not hungry anymore (I don't eat during the school) I have to rest. By that I mean checking my email inbox and browsing internet for a short time. Then I do my homework, prepare for lectures and... go to sleep. Poor me, even if I had that prince-on-a-pink-horse-like boyfriend, I would hardly ever have any time for him :D Fuck it! I don't even have time for painting! And the only thing that keeps me wasting my time at the college studying is the vision of a better job in the future...

Having said what I wanted I think I will just go drawing now. I finally have some free time, so I am going to make best out of it:) I'd only like to desribe shortly the pictures I am uploading. Namely, 'Sleeping Margarette' and another, actually untitled lady with a dog. Honestly I did not spend much time creating them, but they were good enough for presents. One of them is for my cousin, Margarette, who recently got her B.A. degree, which made the whole family very proud and promted me to draw her a picture. The other, for my aunt, who is actually the cousins mum, for her birthday. I do hope you like the pictures :) Have a nice November :*

It's all about the painting

Today, I'd like to talk about drawing and portraying mainly. Since many people often ask me what is my approach to it, I decided to write about it here. Please, take it as sort of general advice. Well, those who look for any kind of tutorials, and technics of drawing may be quite disappointed, but, come on, there is plenty of such all around the Internet. My thing is to  write about how to draw or portray in a different way than it is written anywhere else. I mean, from a point of view of a self-taught paiter who looks for pleasure and aesthetics within the art rather than fulfilling all the ridiculous rules written in the books and taught at the universities, not to mention the opinions of the crazy art critics, who call art anything that consists of the matter :/

1. It's nice when you often change people you portray. But do not torture yourself with portraying faces you don't particularly like. For example, a lot of people say, it's so difficult to portray an older person with wrinkles etc, so that it makes it real art. Also, depicturing the kind of wisdom seen in their eyes makes the pictures far more interesting than all the kind of young pretty pin-up people. I disagree. Obviously, I don't mind old people, but really, when you portray someone it's not about portraying their wisdom or intelligence etc. but about the prettiness as the value itself. As a visual art, paintings have to appeal to our sight rather than any other senses.

2. My mum often says, I should portay someone from our family rather than these **** (well, you know she doesn't like my favourite faces :D First thing: portray only the faces YOU like, not because someone else asked you to do so. I suppose, it's silly to take money from your own mum for the picture, but please, people, value yourselves! If it is art, it means, an average person can't do that, which means one has to pay for it:) Treat your gift as something special, and for example give it as birthday presents etc. , otherwise others will never appreciate it. And if someone asks you for portraying them, and only God knows how much time it takes you to create anything, and their face is, uhm visually not appealing to you; therefore, you do not expect to derive much pleasure while portraying, do not hesitate to ask them about some payment (in a nice way:). OMG, what if they say: no way, I thought you liked me, and you'd never ask me about money  etc... OMG, it doesn't really matter! It's their loss not yours, since it is them who's not going to have the artwork, whose existence is simply irrelevant to you:)

3. If you don't have a live model, stick to portraying from photographs. But, try to take a bit more difficult thing each time, otherwise you won't develop; for instance, when the hair is messy - if it's really not going to look good, then don't bother, but if the only problem is the level of difficulty, do it! If a kind of disaster comes out of it? Well, you can alway tear the picture and throw it away without telling anybody. But there is always a possibility that is it going to be great, so why not to try it?:)

5. If you're taking private lessons, that's good. But if you don't have such a possibility, believe me, you can do it on your own too. It takes more time, but I, for example, went only once, and had been told that the drawings are naive, and it's visible  that I never had proffesional training, I decided that  I am not going there ever again. What for? To be offended? The dude was a sarcastic wanker, not even able to tell me what exactly was wrong and help in any way. So, instead, I started browsing a bit of tutorials and mostly albums on classic art. Up to this day, my influencess include W.A. Bougureau, Michaeloangelo, Tissot and S.Dali. And you can learn a lot only from obseving their paintings(or anybody's else).

6. I believe paiting is basically about perceiving what we see, adding a bit of ourselves and putting it on a surface using pencils and paits. So, it actually can't be tought, it develops on it's own. Special techinques? For example, at the beginning I read somewhere not to use much rubber. But I used to use it very often, because I needed to. Now I don't, but it took me time to learn how not to use it that often, still I think the usage is always justified. It's just as with the small wheels in little children's bicycles; telling them they don't need them, is equal to letting them hurt and even break their bones, but obviously they are won't need them in the future. It'll only take some time.

7. I dont' want it to sound like an advert, but people often ask me what type of pencils exactly do I use. Since they are the main kind I use, I'd highly recommend Faber-Castell's, Herlitz's and Crayola's. But Prismacolours are great too, stil, albeit the Koh-I-Noor regular pencils are superb, the coloured ones are real sh*t (they probably add too much clay and too little pigment). Although it is believed that a good artist can create a masterpiece from anything, I must admit that cheap pencils may simply ruin the surface of paper (Uhm, I really know what I am saying:/) Apart from that, whenever any of your frieds is throwing off their old pencils of good brand/quality, 'coz only kids use this' ask them if you can take them :)

I don't think I have got anything else to say, so I wish all of you good luck with any talents you possess and enjoy my today's paintings. The blonde - yeah, that's sort of a small disappointment, particularly concerning the background, but the other, the bird with the bird is one of my favourite, and I suppose the best paintings as well :) Cute anyway, and cuteness's what I love :*

It's all about the music

Recently, I was browsing the Internet, searching for e.g. newly published photos or interviews of my idols. And what have I found? An interview with Martin Listner from Alphaville, where he says that, despite him being over 15 years with the band, still some people regard AV as Gold/Lloyd/Mertens, while e.g. Mertens was with AV only for a few years. And photos of Japan on tumblr. What really pissed me off were some very mean and rude comments on Rob Dean, who was their lead guitarist on their first three albums, including my favourite: Adolescent Sex and Quiet Life. He is, next to Nasty Suicide, one of those who made me finally accept guitar and find it a great instrument if played well. And obviously, another few people, who believe that Culture Club, albeit Wikipedia mentions two other members, was only Boy and Moss. Now, my answer to all that? As follows:

First of all, Maybe Lloyd and Mertens were cute (mind you they were young, well dressed, and good-looking), but if not for  Lister and the rest, Alphaville now would be probably only a nice memory. Thanks to them and Gold (not Lloyd or Mertens, whose job I still appreciate) their Catching Rays On Giant album was so succesful. I mean, at such age (Alphaville don't look so 'cute' anymore) it is their great music, which is such thanks to the current members of AV, that made them come back high on charts again.

Secondly, it's not about the look. It's about the music and talent - so, if not for Rob Dean, Japan (at least initially) would have mediocre lead guitar, 'coz Sylvian was to look not to play well (I am not saying that I don't like him, mind you, if I didn't would I ever copy his image?). So, all the bitchy and out of nowhere coments, such as: 'Just casually crop Rob out, people' , and even worse and very offensive, which I don't even want to qoute, written among others by an Aussie, made me not particularly proud of being the one myself. Gosh, if someone doesn't fucking like them, then do not torture yourself listening to or looking at them and fuck off! This is not about Vogue session, modelling or beauty contest; this is about the MUSIC!

As regards Culture Club, Roy Hay for example responsible for all the lovely and famous melodies, inlcuding the great Victims and That's the way. He was not only a guitarist in the band, but also a great composer and that's why he should be remembered too. And so should Mikey Craig.

Also, concerning the musicians' image: clothes and makeup should be judged, not what they were born like (btw. Rob was always dressed nicely). That's why I really  want my (future:D boyfriend to look great, but as I said before, I will focus on his clothes and general make-up rather than his natural look, upon which he'd have not influence. And above all, I will focus on other values, such as wit, nice character, his devotion, intelligence etc. And I really wish these bitches from tumblr could read it too (c'mon, nothing's impossible:) They are so stupid ( despite being probably older than I) that if members of Japan had their list of groupies who 'wouldn't ming getting laid' these chicks would be consider not even worth being looked at by them :P

Apart from that, I must admit, I really like the attitude of Hanoi Rocks' fans. I mean, let's face it, both Razzle and Andy McCoy were, uhm well... not particularly handsome, but... we, HRs fans, we all cannot imagine HRs without them. Razzle was (maybe not the best) but definitely great drummer with talent, charisma and style, and Andy one of the best songwriters ever and a fab guitarist. And that's what counts! Well for the real fans. For bithy, immature teenage (girls - I suppose) maybe not... And I do belong to the first group:)

So, today I am uploading another set of of my portraits. This time Ann-Margaret's and another redhead, whose name I don't know, but I discovered the photo about a year ago, when I was a redhead myself and I was searching for a good colour for me. And, as a small tribute to Rob Dean, a parrot which I drew at least three years ago. I wish him all the best and I am proud of him being my idol. Rob was not only a great guitarist, but he also illustrated a book on wildlife of birds. I saw some of the paintings and I think, I better stick to portraying faces, because I don't think I will ever be as good at painting birds as he is :)

Have you ever seen an angel?

Neither have I, but recetly I was, I believe, close to the feeling of seeing the one. Namely, I was taking taking photos of a guy I wanted to portray. Zephirael (the pseudo he uses for himself) turned out to be one of the niciest people I have ever met. He had that kind of warmth, light, really like an angel. And obviously, blond hair and that outstanding type of beauty, which all makes him an interesting person to portray. In the near future he is going to be a physiotherapist, so I think with not only his appearance but also his beahaviour and attitude towards his patients will make him very popular in any place he's going to work at. Really, I know what I am saying, I've had some experiences with nurses, physiotherapists etc. and I can honestly admit that some of them should have been fired long ago. They were bitchy, insensitive monsters without feelings. Well, obviously not always, I have met nice ones too, and I believe he will be one of them ;).

We also had a small talk about tolerance. Because he is not just any ordinary guy, he has also had some other dudes who thought that 'being exeptional was not in their preferences'. The thing about it is that sometimes people are not tolerant not because they don't like something, but on the contrary they are simply envious. Good example are some people I study with:P There is for example an emogirl in my group (Zephirael knows her too), who recently cut her hair short. In my opinion she is pretty anyway (and if I were her I would wear dresses more often instead of trousers, but again it's her style she feels the best in) but since she cut her hair very short she looks even prettier. Still some girls in my group had a 'problem' with it, and started gossiping about how terrible it was, and why couldn't she look 'normal'. I really pity such people who think being conventional is equal to being normal. They don't care that some have their own style, and they simply can't stand someone looking better than they do. So you can imagine how they looked at me when I said that I actually pretty much liked the girl's new haircut (there was time I had similar...) Another example? A girl passing by, in high heels and not too long skirt. Although I really wish I had her legs I am not sickly envious and I honeslty admitted that she looked gorgous, and if one has such legs they shouldn't hide it (her skirt wasn't too short either - just perfect lenght) My mates opinion? Omigosh How did she dare to dress so? She looked such a bit*h (they probably have never seen a real one) Yes, such a bitch, coz she had better legs than they and enough courage to feel womenly... I do hate that kind of jealousy. But some people will never grow up...

Anyway, coming back to my today's subject, I am posting the portraits of Zephirael. I hope you will like them as much as I do :) And I would also say that I very much appreciate that he agreed to be portrayed, and I hope next year will bring tho our college a few more good-looking guys I could portray :) I mean, really, Zephirael was the last one...And concerning the future, I wish they all would be more, uhm GLAM:) Oh, come on, doesn't any one still listen (and gets inspired by :) bands such as Mötley Crüe, Poison, Ratt, Cinderella and stuff like that?! (No, I don't listen to any of the mentioned, but I wouldn't mind if people around me started. They often laugh at such bands' image, but why the fuck they still admire 'lady gaga shit'? Okay, no offending anyone, I am just wishing it all came back. All the great bands from the past, you know. Everyone is complaining that today's music is a load of shit, and at the same time this shit sells so well...

Last but not least, enjoy the paintings, and your holidays too (unless you're working :( And whatever you think about today's topic, try if not checking out the bands ( and please don't omit Hanoi Rocks, they're better than any other glam/hair metal stuff :D then at least tolerate their fans. Actually, try to tolerate anyone who does not harm you anyhow, only tries to be themselves and live their life :) And I do tolerate all the Gaga fans too:)

Handmade Barbie Clothes

Well not many people know about my ex-hobby, but those who did have been asking me for ages if I could show them some of my Barbie's clothes I have sewed on my own made me post them. So here it comes. Quite not as pink and kitchy world as one would imagine when thinking of Barbie, but rather elegant, classy and womanly collection of clothes I sewed about five years ago (which means that I used to play my Barbies at the age of fourteen... Nah, joking, I was just shown how the sewing machine works, and since then I have done quite a few kinds of items one can create using the machine. A.o. a few bags, Boy George doll etc. plus refreshment of some of old clothes, that now look cool and classy vintage. And because I wanted to practise sewing clothes and designing them, I started from Barbie. I only had too little time to develop in
the area, and I swithed to painting about three years ago. Anyway, today I am uploading the clothes. I prepared a little photo session, after which two of three of my dolls came officialy to my younger sister :) I also gave her some furniture, bedclothes and clothes too (It's nice to be the oldest, mind you, one can easily get rid of old stuff (which is not complete rubbish yet), and at the same time make a small kid happy :) So now I am left with my only blond Barbie :)

And one more thing, I was watching a British documentary lately, which reminded me of my dolls. The main subject was that Barbie has got a bad influence on small girls, because they cannot accept
later themselves blah blah blah. I disagree. I accept myself, and I know I am a precious person (just as any of you:) anyway. Actually Barbie gives girls that possibility of imaging . You can be a doctor, a techer, a housewive, an aeroplane pilot, a film star, anything you really wish. It's all positive. And what do the silly feminists expect?! That girls would prefer to play with rather ugly dolls with old-fashioned clothes? Duh, of course not. What don't they do something about boys' toys such as guns, handcuffs and other stuff which preaches violence ( including such computer games) ? Anyway, lack of self-acceptance comes rather from wrong relationships within families, skinny and ugly models on catwalks, TV proggrammes and
glossy magazines about being on a diet all your life long etc. So, leave Barbie alone :) (Gosh, reminds me of that whole stupid Youtube leave-britney-alone thing, don't tell me you don't remember :D

So, enjoy the clothes, and perhaps try to sew something yourself. If not for you, then maybe for your younger siblings or even your kids :) Believe me it's really enjoyable, although it requires much patience :)

Six types of concert-goers :D

Since my holiday has just started and within next three months I'm going to do nothing but rest, I am in a pretty good mood. That is why today I am writing on a less serious subject in a (I hope) funny way. Namely I'd like to tell you something about the types of concert-goers. I am not going too often to the concerts but as far as I've been observing the people around me and sometimes on live videos on Youtube I managed to distinguish six main types of them. I've been searching through the internet but I couln't find anything realistic, something that would suit any type of a concert. So here are the (in my opinion the most common) types which we divide into two subgroups: those who enjoy the concerts and those who don't. To each of these groups three different kinds belong.

Those who don't like the concert, may feel so because they are either bored or they simply hate it, as does the so-called Go-to-hell Henry, who may actually ruin every concert. He is often swearing and violent, helping himself with the alcohol. He comes to the concert only to show how much he hates the band and to throw something at them; however, he is useful when Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga is performing.

According to the reason of boredom we can distinguish Here-by-accident Anna and Brian the Bored. Our first type came to the concert only not to stay at home, but she glances at her watch every minute, looking forward to
coming back home. Unlike her friends, she is here by accident and that's why she finds the concert boring.

However, Brian the Bored goes to concerts purposely to show how bored he is. He claims he could perform himself far better, so he is very cocky and enjoys talking on his mobile phone especially during slow, ambient songs. He came here only to show you his eternal boredom; he enjoys being bored. Nevertheless, both Anna and Brian are completely not dangerous in comparison to Henry.

But hang on! There are some who enjoy the concerts too! Yet, some don't even care who is one the stage, as Stuart the Stoned. Although he is noisy, he does enjoy the music, only in his very own way; he wants to have some fun. Usually tipsy, Stuart jumps, dances, falls and stands on his feet again (remeber he is stoned). Stuart often sings the songs not knowing the lyrics...

However, there are some kinds of concert-goers who really care about who is perfoming now. They sometimes travel miles to see their beloved Idols, as for example Teena the Teen-crush. She admires the band, has even their
T-shirt, but she is so 'omigosh' in love with the singer that she wouldn't even mind if the music stopped and he were the only one who stayed on the stage, doing nothing just letting her look at him. Forever. Teena does not really understand the music, but come on, she would never tell you that, yet her crush lasts only as long as her adolescence, unlike Danny's.

He cares about the band even more, but he managed not to fall in love with any of the
artists (only with their music). Danny the Devoted, as we call him, has got a very mature attitude towards them and he will admire the band forever, unlike our Teena. Not only does Danny understand the music and lyrics, but he also treats is as a religion, so don't you ever dare to say anything negative about the band ( which is obviously better than your favourite anyway); otherwise, he will kill ya. That is why  he is not the perfect concert-goer either. None of our six heroes is actually, but each of us makes the one, usually not even knowing it.

Obviously, your type may ba a mixture or having only some parts of the mentioned
characterictics. For instance, I would compare my self to Danny, but again, I am not such a fanatic, I don't treat my idols as a religion and I don't think 'my' bands are the best; they are the best for me, but each of us should find something they like the most, not because someone told them that something is cool and something else is a piece of we-all-know-what. So, I don't expect my sister to like my music, and I am pretty happy with her listening to Hannah Montana. Is more suitable for her age than for example Slayer or SOAD, isn't it ? (Gosh, what a comparison:D)

The today's subject is less serious and so are the pictures - Cartoones of....my Idols (Uhm, what a surprise:p, I suppose if they had any chance of seeing it, they would probably palmface themselves...all turn.  Enjoy anyway :)
